Milani Lipstick Review

I recently discovered a new love. I had been searching for new lipsticks for a while and well I didn’t want to go to the mall or endure the traffic to get there. I wanted to go to MAC but I can’t tolerate their customer service which gets worse every day. So, I took a trip to Wal-Mart. I had been hearing great things about some new drugstore products and I wanted to go see what all the hype was about. I stumbled onto a display for a brand which had only been carried at CVS and Walgreens in my area. I was so surprised to see Milani at Wal-Mart. I picked out two shades that night and one more a week later. These lipsticks have me falling in love with them. They are richly pigmented and soft to wear on the lips. They are full coverage  and I love how moisturizing they are.

Each of these lipsticks have become a staple in my makeup bag or purse or pocket. I reach for one of them every day. They remind me so much of MAC lipsticks. From the way they smell, feel, and perform. Don’t get me wrong, I love MAC lipsticks but MAC lipsticks and my wallet don’t always agree. I must say that I am so happy that so many drugstore brands have given High-end products a run for their money. Literally.

A Makeup Love Affair

I have been asked the question so many times…. With all of the makeup out there and all the brands you’ve tried why do you go back to Elf?

Simple. I like to save money especially when it’s a good quality product. Elf is a brand that has stood the test of time from regular women to seasoned pros, They’ve held their own out here in this cruel makeup world where one bad product could mean the end of your company. I’m never afraid to say that when it comes to some things I am a “Penny Pincher”. Not to downplay any high end brands. I have a lot of high end brands in my stash but none that get as much use as all of my ELF products.

I got introduced to ELF cosmetics six years ago when I started doing YouTube. I ordered a few things and fell in love. I couldn’t believe what I got for the money I spent. It was unbelievable. I maybe spent $50 and got a huge amount of products. At the time I only ordered things that I knew I would use on a daily basis like brushes, lipglosses, and some powder products. I just knew that I would regret my entire purchase. To my surprise, I reached for those products every day.

ELF cosmetics has become a very trusted brand for me. The quality of the products is amazing and so is the value. I could not be more pleased with the company, products, or customer service. I love ELF products. I must say that it started with the lip products though. Those Hypershine glosses hooked me from day one.

I was always on a quest to find a good lipgloss that didn’t make my lips too sticky and well I found them. And they were only $1. I have a ton of them in my makeup collection. Their blushes and bronzers were a hit with me too. Not all of their products work for me but I’m not disappointed. They keep expanding the lines so there are more products to get to know and love than I could ever imagine. I don’t ever regret an ELF purchase. I also have staples that I only get from the ELF line.

From their studio to the basic line to now the skincare line, ELF has become a trusted and household name to women and men all over. It’s no wonder ELF is so successful. Quality products at rock bottom prices. I hope they continue to bring us these awesome products and keep expanding their lines. I can’t wait to see what they bring to us next.

Annastasia Dip Brow Pomade Review

Your brows frame your face and it’s important to make them look as neat and clean as possible. After all you wouldn’t put a beautiful picture in a frame that didn’t look as good as the picture. Anastasia Beverly Hills has revolutionized the brow product game an has given us a product that takes the place of three products.

This product is your pencil, filler, and brow gel all in one. I love the way this product stays put all day through any type of heat or Humidity. I tend to put my hands in my face and on my forehead a lot. I surely thought I would have to touch up but I was pleasantly surprised when the product was still in place just as I had laid it that morning. I have never experienced a brow product with so much pigment and staying power. This stuff is truly bullet proof. And also to my surprise is the fact that it was so pigmented but it never turned ashy. That was a first for a cream brow product. Usually they tend to attract and pick up a lot of the particles in the air, which changes their color. This product didn’t do that. It was dry in a few seconds.

One down side to this product is that if you apply too much your brows can look too heavy or weird. I have been having that problem. I have to use a super light hand with this stuff. The pigmentation is no joke. It’s not just pigment under Vaseline or pomade under pigment. It is truly saturated all the way through. I really enjoy this product not only as a brow product, but also an eye shadow and liner. I wish we could get more product for the money though. The quality is impeccable. If you haven’t tried this Dip-brow pomade then you should. I know it won’t disappoint you.

Estee’ Lauder Bronze Goddess Review

This bronzer was a nice surprise to me. I wasn’t expecting it to perform as well as it does. I have been using the NARS bronzer in casino and it was working well for me but when I saw and tried this I was floored. This bronzer is different from anything else I have tried. It has small micro sparkles in it that gives it a glow reflective property. It’s also matte at the same time. It is really a great bronzer not just for bronzing, but for contouring the face as well. It’s not shimmery or glittery but it is a great product and it gives your face a glow.
I love using this product and it costs a little less than the NARS bronzer I have been using for years. It is also way bigger than the NARS. I won’t be running out of this product any time soon and I can appreciate that. It was well worth my money and I am getting a lot of use out of it.
It’s also great for the body which is why they give you a generous amount of product. I use a kabuki brush to put this on my legs and the end result is beautiful. This bronzer retails for $36.00. It is a worthwhile investment considering how much we use bronzer this time of year.

Mary Kay Lipstick review.

Mary Kay is a makeup company that has been around for fifty years. They are a forced to be reckoned with around the world in the direct selling market. Their skincare has won many awards and honors. I became a Mary Kay independent beauty consultant not just for the opportunity, but because I believe in the products. I was a customer for many years before I ever thought about the opportunity.

 Now that I am a part of this beautiful company, I understand why it has so many loyal customers and consultants. The products are awesome and haven’t been getting the attention they deserve.

 My very first lipstick purchase as an adult was Mary Kay’s crème lipstick in Black Cherry and I have been a believer ever since. That lipstick was the most beautiful and soft lipstick that I have ever tried and now I’m hooked. I cant even imagine being without it
.
I have several colors and they all offer something else as far as finish, color, pigmentation and so on. They range in shades from the lightest nude to the deepest wine. There is truly something for everyone. I have never been this passionate before about a lipstick. I fell in love with the first swipe.

The shades are so flattering and the formula is creamy. Not to mention, they last a really long time on the lips. They are so nourishing and smooth on the lips you forget that you’re wearing a lipstick.

They are very comparable to the MAC lipsticks but, Mary Kay doesn’t do those hyped up collections to sell or promote their lipsticks. It’s simply word of mouth and sharing from one girlfriend to another.

Fall has arrived and the weather is slowly taking shape. The colors of fall are coming in and I have taken advantage of it. My fall lipstick collection is really just minimal but bold and berry.

Midnight Red

This was my first fall purchase and this color is very deceiving it looks one way in the tube then on the lips it’s so gorgeous. It is a beautiful deep brownish red with no shimmer but a little gloss finish. This lipstick complements everyone from beige to bronze. I have worn this shade since August. It is just that wearable and you can build it up to maximize the color. This shade is beautiful on all skin tones. That is the secret of Mary Kay. Almost all of their color products suit every skin tone.

 

Rich Fig

 

This was a hidden gem color for me. It complimented my skin tone so well I almost used it up before I decided to purchase another color. This color is a bronze fig color with a slight shimmer. None of the shimmer in any of these lipsticks are chunky. It’s more like a light frost without the frost if that makes any sense. It gives the lipstick some dimension without being over the top. It’s a beautiful color and it compliments many complexions.

 

 

Blaze

 

This color was complicated for me because in the tube it looks like Midnight red. It is a beautiful blue toned, blood red. It is a true blue red. It is gorgeous on deeper skin tones.

 

Black Cherry

 

This was the shade that got me hooked on Mary Kay lipstick. I was so floored when I first put this shade on. It is a gorgeous deep cherry red with a hint of purple. Just like the name says it looks just like a black cherry. It has the same dimension on the lips and gives you long lasting true color.

 

Merlot

 

This is a real “vampy” color. It is rich deep burgundy-wine color. It is truly the color of a rich Merlot, red wine. Oh my goodness. This color evokes the inner vampire in me. This color made me fall in love with deep lips all over again. It looks like MAC’s Diva or Rebel but this lipstick has a beautiful satin smooth finish. It is very comfortable on the lips.

 

 

Whipped Berries

This color is my everyday shade. It is beautiful with any eye look and suitable for everyday. This shade is a frosted berry with a slight shimmer. It is beautiful on the lips and gives beautiful coverage and wear.

 

True Dimensions Lipstick- Mystic Plum

 

 A new addition to the Mary Kay lip collection; the True Dimensions lipstick is like a lipstick fused with a lip gloss. The texture is creamy and smooth on the lips. It delivers age fighting nutrients to the lips keeping them smooth and supple. This color is the first purchase from the True Dimension line. This smooth plum is perfect. The creamy texture makes for a smooth application and the finish dazzles without any sparkle or glitter. The glossy finish is not sticky or too slick it is the perfect merge of color and shine.

I have given the Mary Kay lipstick 5 stars. I love all of them and the formulas are incredible. I hope that you would give them a try and find your way to beautiful.

NARS Casino Bronzer Review

NARS is known worldwide for their blushes and multiples but I think the bronzers have gotten the short end of the stick. Especially when it comes to women of color. Not many of their products are for our skin tones. So much so that they have only just introduced brown skinned models to their website ads and videos.
Have no fear because I have one product that works for the women of my culture. Casino bronzer is a darker brown with a hint of red undertone. It works great for a bronzer on my skin tone (NC50) and lighter. I love this bronzer. I have purchased it twice in four years. Yes, it lasts that long. It is finely milled and feels like silk on the skin. It’s not ashy or grey and it looks so natural in daylight and photography. It only takes a little to achieve a great contour and bronze.
I had the problem of finding the right bronzer for my skin tone for so many years until I stumbled over this in Sephora, literally. Someone had dropped one on the floor and I stumbled across it. I even got it for 40% off because it was damaged and the last one they had left. Thankfully it was in tact when I got it home and I used it all to the pan. It gives such a beautiful glow to the skin as an all over bronzer and it is a satin.
This is one product I know all of my sisters will love as well as tan and olive skin tones. Across the board this is an awesome bronzer.

Benifit Badgal Mascara Review

So I have been on a bit of a mascara discovery lately. I have tried and compared a few these few months. This journey has been interesting and eye opening, literally. Mascara is the one product that completes the eye. Your brows frame your face but your mascara is the paint on the windows to your soul. This one product can make or break your look for the day. Waterproof, volumizing, lengthening, carbon black, brown or teal, your mascara makes the difference. This one has been a favorite for a while but I never made a formal review about it even though I reach for it all the time and when I don’t have it I crave it. I always say that it could work with this and that when it is missing. I always buy two or three backups of this one.
Benefit has come out with two mascaras that evoke a new love for mascara that I never had before. Bad gal lash is the one I fell in love with from this brand. I love how fluffy and soft it makes my lashes while volumizing and giving length. I was captivated by this mascara the first time I used it. The look it gave me was thick and elegant. My lashes have never been so full and black. I love this mascara for three reasons.
1) The size of the tube and brush. You really get your money’s worth with an applicator that captures and coats each and every lash.
2) The Benefit Cosmetics quality standard
3) The formula; perfect.
If you already have and love this mascara then you already know how I feel and why I feel this way. This is the best thing since sliced bread. I love what it does for my lashes and it washes off easily with wipes, makeup remover or soap and water.
